Wilson willing to put other people first

When we consider who should represent us, we should look to people who are willing to put others first and who look beyond the norms of politics. My friend, Corey Wilson, who is running for state representative for Readfield and Winthrop, is that person.

While he keeps a close eye on the budget in Augusta, he also recognizes that we need to ensure fundamental programs remain funded. One such program that he and I both support is the free school lunch program, a program that is very much needed. Having grown up in tough times, Corey recognizes the need for all children to be provided with good meals so they can focus on their education.

Wilson has the experience and character we need in our representative. He’s been a good friend and a great legislator. I hope others will join me in supporting Corey Wilson this November.

Readfield, Winthrop should vote for Wilson

Those who live in Readfield and Winthrop have an opportunity to vote for someone who will speak for all of us.

Corey Wilson has the skills to work with everyone, regardless of their political affiliation. Having previously served in the Legislature and earning the nickname “Maverick” for his independence and courage, he is who we need to get us through these challenging times.

Corey represents the independent kind of leadership we need in Augusta. He is a no-nonsense leader who has no interest in political theater — he only wants results that matter for Mainers. I am an independent and therefore I value leaders who are willing to think for themselves and who are willing to stand up for what it right, even when it is hard to do. Corey is that leader.

I urge others to join me in voting for Corey Wilson — he is one of us.

Wilson will help bridge political divides

Maine needs Corey Wilson back in the Legislature! While I was in the Maine Senate, it was my pleasure to serve with Rep. Wilson in the 126th Legislature. Corey was an important voice for the people, as he worked tirelessly with both sides of the aisle to get meaningful legislation passed.

Our state and country are deeply divided and facing extraordinary problems that have devastated families, communities, freedoms, the economy and prospects for our future! It’s time Augusta had more legislators like Corey Wilson who will listen to all sides, set aside partisan politics, and make the hard decisions to bring desperately needed relief to Mainers. No longer can we elect people who cannot think for themselves, especially when their voting records show they are beholding only to their party bosses, rather than the people.

Corey Wilson exemplifies Maine values, and will serve Winthrop, Readfield, and all of Maine proudly.

Wilson takes time to listen to voters

I’m supporting Corey Wilson for House District 57 (Readfield/Winthrop) because I’ve seen how much work he is willing to put in; he has knocked on thousands of doors while riding a bicycle! Corey knocked on my door and took the time to get to know me and the issues that are important to me. His work ethic is something we should all aspire to have. I have never seen someone work so hard to get to know the issues that matter to this community. If he is working this hard to earn our votes imagine how hard he will work to represent us in Augusta.

I am confident Corey will do great things for us in Augusta and that he will work tirelessly to represent the voters of Readfield and Winthrop. I hope you will join me in voting for Corey Wilson on Nov. 8.

Wilson the right person for important job

Corey Wilson is an excellent candidate for state representative and a choice to vote for that I highly encourage.

Over the last year, I’ve had the opportunity of getting to know Corey in business as well as using him as a resource to find solutions to issues in our community that no other official would help with. What I respect about him is that he is transparent; he answers my questions honestly, straight forward and openly, and he listens with a passion to finding answers.

It’s very important to me that our elected officials represent the community and hear us all. After all, he is going to be representing our interests in Augusta. It can be really hard to find someone that represents everyone without sidelining their own voice.

Corey Wilson is the person for this important job. I encourage everyone in Readfield and Winthrop to vote for Corey.

Wilson an important voice for the people

Maine needs Corey Wilson back in the Legislature! Corey was an important voice for the people. He worked tirelessly with both sides of the aisle to get meaningful legislation passed, while representing all citizens.

Corey Wilson has all the qualifications to represent all of the people in House District 57. He’s:

· From a family of five who understands what a helping hand means to a family;

·  A Marine combat veteran who stands his ground;

· A small business owner that understands our present issues and needed solutions;

· Experienced in local and state government

Our state and country are deeply divided and facing extraordinary problems that have devastated families, communities, freedoms, the economy and prospects for our future. It is time Augusta had more legislators like Corey Wilson who will listen to all sides, set aside partisan politics and make the hard decisions that will bring relief to working families.

Wilson demonstrates deeply held values

I had seen the signs for Corey Wilson, House District 57, around Winthrop, but didn’t realize just how exceptional a candidate he is until he rode up to our house on his bicycle, pulled up a chair, and talked with my husband and me for 30 minutes about current issues facing Mainers.

Corey is not a politician, but rather a person who actually listens to your concerns. The research and work he has already done and continues to do on state problems is impressive. All of Corey’s accomplishments demonstrate his deeply held values: service, educational excellence, perseverance, hard work, and determination.

As Corey says himself, he will work for the people of Readfield and Winthrop, and not special interest groups or political parties. Corey will help keep our district thriving, and Maine the special place that it is! I urge you to vote for Corey Wilson on Nov. 8.

Wilson will push for change in Augusta

My friend Corey Wilson is running for Maine House of Representatives in District 57 (Readfield/Winthrop). Corey has a history of serving his country; he is a combat veteran. Corey will make a great state representative because he understands what it means to serve and protect. I trust that he will serve and protect the best interests of the people of Readfield and Winthrop.

In addition to serving in the Marine Corps he was a senior program manager at the Department of Veterans Affairs, former City Council member for Augusta, and state representative. He’s running for the House again, and he’ll bring the same pride and commitment to Readfield and Winthrop. It’s time to change direction in Augusta. Corey Wilson is ready to make that change happen.

He served his country honorably and now he’s stepping up to serve again. I urge you to vote for Corey Wilson on Nov. 8.

Wilson working to get people relief on bills

Wilson working to get people relief on bills

Corey Wilson has a plan! He came to talk to me and I felt he listened to my concerns. Just like many of the neighbors, I’m terribly concerned about how I am going to heat my home this winter. Corey isn’t even elected yet and has already gone to seek the advice of many people in the energy industry on solutions for rising energy costs. He has a plan on energy that will help Mainers get the relief they need.

Corey is willing to put in the work for the people of Readfield and Winthrop. He is dedicated to improving our lives and helping find common sense solutions to the problems we all face. I can’t think of anyone who is more committed to finding solutions to the issues than Corey Wilson.

I hope you will join me and vote for Corey Wilson.

Wilson’s energy plan sets him apart

Wilson’s energy plan sets him apart

Corey Wilson is exactly who Winthrop and Readfield need in Augusta! Not only does Wilson relate with hard-working Mainers, he’s also a veteran who worked in public service all of his adult life.

I support Wilson because he knows what Mainers are facing with rising energy costs. Wilson knows we need clean energy, but not solar. He knows that solar panels are not renewable.

I trust Wilson to fight for hydropower, and vote to uncap the megawatt capacity so Mainers can have a true clean energy source that everyone can benefit from equally. Corey Wilson will be a welcomed servant-leader in Augusta, and make sure that everyone in Winthrop and Readfield are remembered and represented well. Vote Corey Wilson in November!

Wilson’s generosity, compassion make him special

Wilson’s generosity, compassion make him special

My husband is Corey Wilson. He is running to be your state representative.

Corey is an extremely hard worker. He has knocked on thousands of doors to earn your vote while running our company at the same time. Many of you have met him and talked with him, but none of you know him like I do. Corey and I have been together for over 10 years. When I met him, I was a single mother with two children (Ethan and Daniel); they were 1 and 3. Corey had no children of his own, yet he did not hesitate to jump in with both feet and become a stepfather and husband to the three of us.

Over the years we have been together, he has always been my biggest supporter. Corey is generous and compassionate and helps when he knows people need it. Just ask around.

Please vote for Corey!

Wilson’s experience, ideas set him apart

Corey Wilson has my vote. He has worked diligently to make a difference. Despite challenges he faced as a child struggling with poverty, he resolved to improve his life. He graduated early from high school, joined the Marine Corps, worked for the departments of Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs, served in the Legislature and as a city councilor, earned his master’s degree, and owns a small business. He has the determination and motivation to get things done!

Mainers are suffering from outrageous energy costs and Wilson is passionate about fixing this statewide problem. He’s leading a group of energy experts and lawmakers in developing a sensible plan to actually fix the energy crisis we are all facing. This plan is logical, realistic, and cost effective. It includes increasing cheap, renewable hydropower and removing ceiling limits that restrict how much energy can be collected from our existing dams.

Vote for Corey Wilson in November!

Wilson shines in race for House District

I'm writing in support of Corey Wilson in his bid for Maine House. Corey has shown a dedication to, and understanding of, true service to his State and Country by serving in the military and also being a small business owner. I have no doubt that Corey is running to make this a better place for all of us and will use his experiences in both the military and business to accomplish that goal.

His military service speaks for itself in that putting the rest of us above self is a way of life for him and he will be able to use lessons learned to be his compass in helping to lead the district to a brighter future.

Along with all of this, his character shines through in his personal life and how he carries himself as a husband, dad and person.

Wilson works diligently to improve state

Corey Wilson 100% has my vote! He has worked diligently to make a difference in our state and strives to move our state forward for the future.

Corey has the determination to move Maine forward and address ways to help Mainers who are facing rising fuel and food costs, as well as help our seniors and our disabled veterans. Corey is pro-small business and believes in helping the mom-and-pop shops of our state grow and not overburden them in excessive taxation.

Despite the challenges he faced as a child struggling with poverty, Corey never let his past struggles shape his future accomplishments. Corey’s passion to connect, learn and converse with everyone, no matter their political affiliation.

Corey believes we can all learn from each other and make this state the best it’s ever been. Vote for Corey in November and let’s move Maine forward!

Wilson a natural leader, problem solver

Corey Wilson is eager to get Maine moving in the right direction He is a natural leader and problem solver; willing to work hard to solve key issues in Maine. Corey doesn’t mind taking a stance on issues and welcomes thoughtful discussion and input from constituents.

This kind of consideration and transparency isn’t one Mainers are familiar with when it comes to politics. It is a much needed breath of fresh air! I think Mainers are ready for change, and Corey represents a new way of doing things.

Being a father, veteran, and small business owner, he understands the issues everyday Mainers face and I’m confident Corey will represent the people of Winthrop and Readfield well. He deserves our support on Nov. 8 and I believe he is the right man for the job!

Wilson the type of leader Maine needs

I recently had opportunity to speak with Corey Wilson about his run for Legislature, representing Winthrop and Readfield.

Corey came across as particularly genuine and earnestly interested in serving his community. He has shown that commitment to others with his enlistment to the Marines at age 17, completing two tours in Iraq, then further serving his country in the Department of Homeland Security. Then, after returning to Maine he served in the Maine Legislature, earning recognition as the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine 2012 Legislator of the Year.

Corey has accomplished these things while, together with his wife, raising three children and starting his own business.

The accomplishments of Corey Wilson reflect the type of person Maine needs. I hope Winthrop and Readfield voters can please vote him back into the Maine legislature.

Q&A

1) Define what “success” would look like if you are elected to serve your district.
Responsible leaders must listen and successful leaders must be willing to compromise. In my time in the Legislature, I was known for being a consensus builder, negotiating some of the most important legislation in front of the Legislature.

In 2013, the local press labeled me a “Maverick” because of my willingness to break party lines. During my legislative service, no other lawmaker broke party lines more than I did. I am truly independent and my voting history supports my independence.

On both sides of the aisle there is so much hate for one another. I don’t believe that any of us really wants that. I aim to be the bridge between the left and the right. I believe that we must all work together for the betterment of our state and the survival of our nation.
There will be many tough issues that will come up during this session, but if we take the time to listen to one another, get to know one another, and put aside the hatred I know that we can find a path forward that both sides can be proud of.

In the Legislature, I will work with anyone if I believe the idea is the right one for my district. I will only work for the people of Winthrop and Readfield, not special interest groups or political parties.

Success for me is clear: compromise and exercise independent judgment.

2) Characterize your view on public access to governmental business.
Transparency in government is critical. Ensuring meetings are open to the public and that documents are available for inspection greatly assists in achieving transparency. As a general rule, all governmental business should be open to the public.
